Consultation for People with Sensory Impairment
Bracknell Forest Council is developing and modernising support and services for people who experience sight loss, hearing loss or those people who are deafblind. To achieve the best possible outcomes for local people, it is important to understand the needs and aspirations of people both now and in the future.
This consultation will lead to the Council writing a commissioning strategy for people with sensory impairment. A commissioning strategy sets out how we plan to work with partners such as voluntary groups, independent providers and the NHS and how we will support people to shape their own lives and the support they receive.
In order to gain an understanding of people’s views we have talked to people who are already receiving support or services. We have also spoken to staff and voluntary groups and tried to speak to those people in the community who are seldom heard or who may be underserved. The Council wants to make sure that all the important messages you have given us are included in the 5 year commissioning strategy currently being developed.
Please see the consultation paper and feedback form on the right. Please send this back with your comments, phone us with your comments on 01344 351796 or email commissioning.strategies@bracknell-forest.gov.uk. The consultation is open until 12th January 2009.
