Forestcare

Forestcare is the Council's own 24 hour, 365 days-a-year emergency response control centre. We respond to emergency alarm calls from homes in Bracknell Forest, Maidenhead and District, Wokingham and Reading.

Our team of friendly, experienced Emergency Response Officers answer calls from community alarms that they have installed in homes across three of the unitary authorities of Berkshire. They also answer calls from sheltered housing tenants in Bracknell, Wokingham, Maidenhead and District and Reading who may be in need of assistance.

Forestcare is also the out-of-hours contact for Bracknell Forest Borough Council and Wokingham District Council. Our staff are trained to deal with a variety of situations and we are the first point of call for any civil emergencies. Forestcare also works closely with the Emergency Duty Team of social workers who offer out-of-hours social work support across Berkshire.

Joined-up working

Forestcare makes the best use of scarce resources, especially out-of-hours, by working in partnership with other social and community-care providers, the health community, the voluntary sector and the primary emergency services.

Forestcare Emergency Response Officers are all trained in first aid and a range of other skills. Within set guidelines and procedures, they can provide monitoring, on site assistance and emergency transport if required, working in conjunction with GPs, the ambulance service and other healthcare and welfare bodies.

  • Flexible, responsive and accountable - our highly trained team acts quickly and usually resolves problems before they can become crises
  • Different from other Call Centres
  • We offer a mobile response
  • Our staff are multi-skilled, for example they are trained in First Aid
  • Our staff are Police checked
  • We conduct regular client safety / servicing visits
  • Bespoke Solutions - working with agency managers and staff, we can design and deliver the right package of services and agree service levels to meet your exact requirements

Lone Worker Monitoring

Forestcare can monitor staff in any lone working situation, for example social workers, home carers or environmental health officers, whilst going about their normal daily duties away from the office. Find out how Forestcare can help with Lone Worker Monitoring.

Prevention

A Forestcare lifeline can help keep tenants, residents and those in ill health, safe at home and living independently, helping to reduce the need for hospital admissions, where appropriate.

All calls to Forestcare are recorded to ensure the highest levels of quality and safety.
