Take Pride - Activities You Can Get Involved In

Crime Awareness Patrols

The main aim of these patrols is to raise people’s awareness of how they can unintentionally increase the risk of becoming a victim of crime.

Patrols, which are run by the Police, involve walking around residential areas and car parks looking for things that might cause someone to break into a vehicle, for example satellite navigation cradles, the vehicle’s details are then noted down and letters sent to the owner informing them of the risks they face.

Graffiti Removal

If you would like to join a group to tackle a graffiti problem in your neighbourhood, or know of an area that suffers from a graffiti problem and would like to organise a group of likeminded individuals to remove it, then we can provide you with the equipment to do this. The kit consists of a series of easy to use chemicals which you simply spray on the area that you want to clean, leave for a few minutes and then wipe off.

Litter Picks

You can organise or join a planned community litter pick. Bracknell Forest Borough Council can provide litter pickers and bin bags and we can arrange to have the rubbish you collect picked up.

If you regularly clean up an area local to you and would like your own litter picker then we can lend you one on a long term loan. We can also arrange to collect what you pick up if it wont all fit in your bin.

Speed Watch

Speeding is a regular cause of complaints in Bracknell Forest and to help tackle this we have set up Speed Watch.

Speed Watch involves monitoring the speed of vehicles on roads that have been identified as causing particular concern to local residents using Speed Indication Device, or SID, and noting the details of any vehicles travelling above the speed limit. The owners are then sent advisory letters by the Police.

Water Course Clearance

You could take part in or organise a clearance of litter and debris from water courses. We can supply you with rakes and litter pickers that you can borrow and we can arrange to have the rubbish you collect picked up.
