Anti-Social Behaviour Statement
Policy and Procedure relating to Housing Management
Levels of unacceptable, or anti-social, behaviour in Bracknell Forest are low compared to many parts of the Country. But that's no consolation if you're the victim of abusive language, noisy neighbours, harassment, intimidation, vandalism, nuisance or violence.
Each time the Council acts to repair damage, remove graffiti litter or abandoned vehicles or just investigate complaints of misbehaviour, there's a cost. That money comes from you; through your rent, service charges or council tax.
Everyone should be able to live the lives they choose, provided they don't interfere with or spoil the quality of life for others. The Council, as a responsible landlord, will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and will take proportionate action to deal with it. We all need to treat each other with tolerance, consideration and respect.
Section 218A of the Housing Act 1996 (introduced under The Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003) requires social landlords, including Bracknell Forest Borough Council, to prepare and publish a Statement of policy and procedures on anti-social behaviour and a Summary of current anti-social behaviour policy and procedures.
