Local Healthwatch

From April 2013, Local Healthwatch became the new champion for patients, the public and users of health and social care services. It provides them with information and advice to help them make independent, informed choices about their health and social care. It also gathers their views and ensure they are taken into account when local health and social care services are designed and delivered.

The Local Healthwatch organisation in Bracknell Forest is Healthwatch Bracknell Forest.  Local healthwatch provides information and advice to people to help them access health and social care services that meet their needs and:

  • helps improve services by:
    • promoting and supporting the involvement of people in the monitoring, commissioning and provision of local care services
    • obtaining people’s views about their health and social care needs
    • writes reports and makes recommendations to providers to help improve services and to Healthwatch England and the Care Quality Commission to develop policy, standards, guidance and regulation
  • helps commission and decommission local services by:
    • taking part in decision making about health and social care services on a new health and wellbeing board
    • playing a key role in preparing statutory Joint Strategic Needs Assessments and new Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy
  • signposts people to the provider of NHS complaints advocacy so that people can make complaints about NHS services

You can contact Healthwatch Bracknell Forest by telephone, email or in person.  You can also visit their website, complete their "Speak Out" page or follow their Facebook and Twitter posts.
