Missed bin collections
If your refuse, recycling or garden waste has been missed we apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
Reasons for missed collection
If your bin wasn’t collected on its scheduled day, there could be a number of reasons why. So, before you contact us, check that the following factors aren’t responsible for your missed collection:
Your bin should be placed at your usual collection point so that it is clearly visible, without causing any obstruction, the majority of waste collection points are at the kerbside of the road nearest your property.

Day and time
Make sure your bins are put out on the right collection day and before 6:30am or 6am if your collection is a Saturday. Collection routes are always subject to change so it is important your bin is out by these times.
You may wish to check your bin collection day or any schedule changes for bank holidays.
If your blue bin or your brown bin or bags contain the wrong materials, such as plastic bags or general waste your bin will not have been emptied. You will need to remove all of the incorrect items from your bin. More information on what can be recycled and composted can be found on these pages:
Weight restrictiveThe contents of your bin must weigh less than 75kg for health and safety reasons, otherwise our crew or waste trucks can't lift it. You will need to lighten the bin for safe disposal.
Overfilling your bin and jamming the waste into it can prevent its contents from being emptied. You will need to remove these items and ensure that the lid is fully closed to safely secure the contents.
Any refuse placed at the side of your green bin will not be collected. This waste can be taken to Longshot Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Large cardboard boxes will be collected on your recycling collection day provided they are flattened, emptied of any polystyrene or plastic packaging, and placed neatly next to your blue bin.
Garden waste collection charge – applies to brown bins only

Not a council bin
We can only collect bins belonging to Bracknell Forest Borough Council. We cannot collect your waste until you have the correct bins in place. If you think you may have the wrong bins please complete our online form to order new bins.
How to report your missed collection
If your bin or garden waste bag was missed, and providing all the above criteria were met, please report your missed collection by completing our missed waste or recycling collection report form. Please make this report as soon as possible, preferably within two working days.
We will then check our waste collection vehicle records and providing there is no reason for the miss a collection will be arranged for you within two working days.
If your reported missed collection is found to be because of one of the reasons listed above you may be charged for an additional collection.
