Craft Coop shines at The Lexicon Awards

Craft Coop wins award

Last night saw local arts and crafts hub, Craft Coop, win the award for Best Community Enterprise at The Lexicon Retailer Awards.

Craft Coop in Princess Square brings together local artists to provide craft activities to the borough, as well as handmade gifts that can be purchased in store.

The award ceremony saw over 200 staff from shops, restaurants, cafes and other services gather at Cineworld to celebrate the outstanding levels of customer service provided throughout the year.

Visitors to The Lexicon cast more than 7,000 votes, for their favourite businesses in each award category. This was then combined with mystery shoppers to form the basis of the judging process.

Craft Coop, which was launched last year, scooped the top spot for community enterprise, in recognition of all the work it does to support local people. It was brought to the borough by Bracknell Forest Council using the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Cllr Paul Bidwell, Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said:

“I was honoured to give out an award last night. It was fantastic to see the hard-working staff in the town centre recognised for their excellence.

“Congratulations to all the winners, including Craft Coop which took the top community enterprise award for all the hard work and dedication it puts in to supporting local people, local artists and small businesses.”

Rob Morris, General Manager at The Lexicon said:

“We were blown away by the number of public votes, which underlines the importance of receiving a warm welcome and great customer service, when visiting the town centre.

“The awards are a great way for those who work in The Lexicon to get together and we were delighted to formally acknowledge the people and teams that have been providing excellent customer service over the past year.”
