Air quality assessment guidance for effects on habitats sites
Natural England (NE) currently advises that an air quality assessment will be required for developments with a net increase of over 100 dwellings and other developments on a case by case basis which are not included in the Bracknell Forest Local Plan (BFLP) Air Quality Assessment - see BFLP evidence base documents LP/Ev/8e and LP/Ev/8f.
The results of such an assessment are required to enable the council to carry out a Habitats Regulations Assessment. The council is unable to provide detailed technical advice on this matter. It is therefore strongly advised that you contact Natural England for further advice at the earliest opportunity.
Reference should be made to the assessment advice published by NE. A guidance note which has been agreed with NE can be found below. If such proposals are found to lead to likely significant adverse air quality effects on habitats sites (in agreement with NE) mitigation measures will be agreed at the planning application stage.
