Planning council performance

Planning for performance at the council involves setting objectives, agreeing actions, developing performance measures and setting targets. Corporate planning for these involves the whole organisation, and covers three time periods.

Long term (5 years)

The council’s long term plan is outlined in the Council Plan which was agreed following the May 2015 election. It sets out a new narrative and six strategic themes with associated key measures of success.

Medium term (3 years)

Each department publishes a Departmental Service Plan to explain the work that will happen in the various sections over the next three years to deliver the key measures of success.

Short term (1 year)

Within departments there are business plans which set out the work of each section. These are monitored internally.
