Environmental Health and Safety - Commercial Team
We are part of the Environmental Health and Safety Section and are responsible for the enforcement of the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and associated legislation in over 1470 premises throughout Bracknell.
- We help local businesses maintain a safe business both by carrying out regular inspections and by offering education courses, advice and practical help
- We promptly investigate enquiries and complaints about unsafe premises, poor working conditions including accident notification taking appropriate action as necessary
- We produce a wide range of information leaflets to help businesses comply with the law
- We are notified of all new businesses and cooling towers
- We take part in national campaigns to promote health and safety in the borough
OSR1 Registration
All businesses under our jurisdiction are required to register with us. If you intend to employ any person or persons to work in shop or office premises in Bracknell you are required by Section 49 of the Offices, Shops and Railway Premises Act 1963 and the Notification of Employment of Persons Order 1964, to register with the Council by the completion of the OSR1 form (160k pdf download from HSE website).
