The Borough Council wants to see more local services developed to better support children, their parents and carers, and families. ‘Extended services’ is the term used to describe these services.
The Council is working with a range of other providers to ensure quality provision. The services will be provided in local schools, children’s centres and a variety of other places including health centres, youth centres and libraries.
By providing services, the Council wants to help children meet the five key outcomes – to be healthy, safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well being. Appropriate services should be planned and delivered based on needs identified in the local community.
