The Parks & Countryside Service manages over 80 parks and countryside sites, 26 children's play areas and nearly 50 miles of Public Rights of Way across the borough for informal recreation and nature conservation.

The rangers help to look after the sites and run a full calendar of events to bring local people closer to their environment.
