Many people feel the need for a more tangible link with those loved ones that have meant so much to them, a memorial, which is personal to themselves rather than shared.
On display in the Hall of Remembrance and comprising of four volumes, one for each quarter of the year. The Books contain leaves of the finest sheepskin parchment, bound in calf vellum and richly tooled in gold leaf. The Book is displayed in a protective glass case, so that memorial entries may be seen on each anniversary. A permanent memorial entry may be inscribed in the Book of Remembrance under the date of death, or any other anniversary. The minimum entry is of two lines, consisting of the name of the deceased on the top line, with a personal inscription on the second. Entries of five or eight lines can include a floral emblem, animal, bird, badge, crest or shield, which may be of significance to the family.
The whole entry is executed by hand and offers the same degree of permanence and artistic excellence as the best medieval manuscripts.
Arrangements can be made for copies of entries in the Book of Remembrance to be available to relatives and friends upon request. These cards are particularly suitable for sending to relatives who are unable to attend Easthampstead Park to view the Book. The Remembrance Card measures approximately 171mm by 124mm and is an exact replica of the entry in the Book of Remembrance.
Standard rose trees and bushes are located within the Gardens of Remembrance. They are available for dedication for an initial period of seven years, with the option to renew for a further period. A small plaque with a limited inscription is provided for each tree or bush, each rose may have up to two plaques.
Large selections of roses of varying species are pre-planted within the gardens. Therefore it may be possible to select a preferred variety or colour of rose from those available. During the dedication period, we accept full responsibility for the care and upkeep of the rose, including replacement should this ever be necessary.
Always on permanent display within the Hall of Remembrance, the panel can be dedicated for an initial period of seven years, with the option to renew for a further period. The panels are made from selected deep blue niger goat leather with the memorial lettering inscribed in twenty two-carat gold leaf. The deep blue tone of the leather creates an effective contrast to the brilliance of the gold lettering to provide a dignified lasting memorial.
These benches are manufactured from high quality teak and are available for dedication for an initial seven-year period. A cast aluminium plaque with inscription is fixed to the bench. Situated around the grounds at Easthampstead Park the bench is maintained by ourselves and treated periodically with wood preserve. Unfortunately, due to the popularity of this memorial and the limited space within the grounds there may be a waiting list. However, please do not hesitate to enquire about their availability.
Many visitors to Easthampstead Park have expressed a desire to contribute towards maintaining and enhancing the floral beauty of the Gardens of Remembrance, which includes the Silver Birch Copse and Peace Garden. Bracknell Forest Borough Council welcomes and appreciates this interest and has now introduced a scheme whereby bereaved families and friends and members of the public may make donations towards spring flowering bulbs being planted in the Gardens of Remembrance.
Is a joint venture between Bracknell Forest Borough Council and Bracknell & Ascot S.A.N.D.S. (Stillborn and Anti Natal Death Society) to provide a resting-place for the cremated remains of babies. It has been designed and maintained in such a way to meet the individual needs of parents and allows privacy when visiting their loved one. The Garden is located to the left of the Hall of Remembrance and is surrounded by a flowering wooden trellis with climbing roses and borders planted with shrubs. The focal point of the garden is a sculpture, which reflects that unique feeling between mother and baby. The wall space adjacent to the garden has been allocated for displaying of commemorative plaques which can accommodate 4 lines of personal inscription plus a suitable motif. The plaques are leased for a period of seven years, with an option to renew for a further period.
Today there'll be no toys, no cake
No eager child a fuss to make
But on this day each year we'll light
A single candle day and night
And this small light will let us know
That thoughts of you will never go.
