Your special day should be a happy, enjoyable and memorable event. The staff at Bracknell Register Office are an enthusiastic team who will work with you to ensure your ceremony is exactly as you want it and carried out in accordance with law.
Important considerations for your day will include personalising your ceremony, organising readings, photography and a suitable venue. Set within the beautiful Victorian Mansion, Easthampstead Park, our Syrett Suite is the ideal venue for your ceremony. Accessed by a half mile long tree-lined drive, the Mansion which was built in 1864, is a listed building, sympathetically adapted to allow full disabled access. Decorated and furnished to blend with the magnificent Jacobean style building, the room has been finished with several silk flower arrangements and large planters with lush foliage.
The Syrett Ceremonial Room comfortably seats 43 people, but is equally suitable for a much smaller group. Some standing room allows the marriage room to accommodate up to 56 guests. Should you wish to have a smaller, more intimate ceremony, the Syrett Blue Room seats up to 6 guests. Please ensure you book for the correct room.
Both rooms have a compact disc player, which will play instrumental pieces whilst your guests assemble, and during the signing of the register. However, if you have a favourite piece of music we can play this for you, providing it is acceptable for weddings and doesn’t have any religious content (please discuss this with the Superintendent Registrar before the day). The ceremonial room is also connected to an induction loop should any guests require this facility.
The grounds are beautifully maintained throughout the year, and look wonderful even in winter. We have two dedicated areas, a natural grass area a short walk from the Suite, or a hardstanding area with a bench and planters which is immediately outside the Syrett Suite. The gardens are quiet and private, and make an ideal background for your photographs or video. You are very welcome to use these gardens before or after your ceremony, although we must ask you to respect other parties if necessary.
We also have a number of approved venues within the Borough.
If you choose to have your ceremony in either of the Syrett Suite rooms, please contact the office to book a provisional date. If an outside venue is required you should contact the manager of the premises to make a provisional booking, and then contact our office to ensure registration staff are available on the relevant day.We have no limit on how far in advance we can take a provisional booking, however notice can only be given up to 12 months prior to the date.Wherever you book you need to give notice of your intent at your local Register Office. If you would like to view the rooms, please phone 01344 352052 or email registrars@bracknell-forest.gov.uk for an appointment. As we are not at the venue all the time, it is not possible for you to just call in.
Personalising your Ceremony
Your special day can be personalised in a number of ways.
You can choose a favourite piece of music to be played whilst the guests assemble, or at the end of the ceremony whilst the register is being signed. The ceremony itself is a fairly simple one, and can be tailored to your individual wishes. You may wish to include a reading, or piece of poetry, or you may like to add your own personal vows and commitments to each other. It should be noted that any enhancements must not have any religious content, and must be approved by the Superintendent Registrar prior to the day. Ceremonies in the Blue Room cannot be enhanced in anyway.
Further personalisation is possible if you are booking the Syrett Ceremonial Room as the couple can choose to see the Registrar separately prior to the ceremony. This enables one party to be escorted into the ceremonial room, by a relative and attendants or a friend, without having been seen by the assembled party. The Ceremonial Room has a central aisle making it possible for the couple to enter to the traditional bridal march, or to a favourite piece of music. It is also possible to add a formal exit following the ceremony, again to traditional music or something special to the couple.
Recordings/Photographs
We understand that your day is very special and you may want to record it. A video camera may be used during the ceremony with the approval of the Superintendent Registrar. We do request that still photographs are not taken by guests during the actual ceremony, but every opportunity is given afterwards to take pictures.
