School transport

The council provides a variety of levels of assistance for home-to-school and home-to-college transport.

Eligibility 

Read the relevant school travel policy for full information on who is eligible and how to apply for school transport for the current academic year.

For students with an Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP), contact the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team on 01344 354039.

Application forms

You can apply online for school transport support by selecting the appropriate form depending on your needs. You should read the relevant policy document before applying.

Mainstream

For children aged 5-16 years old. Mainstream transport is funded by the council. Parents or guardians do not have to pay a contribution for eligible children.

Post 16

For students aged 16 years and over. A financial contribution is required for post 16 transport.

Farepayer pass

For students not eligible for free transport. Be aware that in most cases it is cheaper to go directly to the transport provider.
