Twin Bridges highway improvement scheme

Latest update - Monday 4 August

The engineering work, including the carriageway resurfacing of the junction is now complete.

The last remaining elements of work will be carried out this week. This will include electrical connections for the new street lighting columns and final installation and wiring of the new traffic signals on the northern side of the junction. Both elements of work will cause minimal disruption to traffic.

The date for switching on the new traffic signals on the north has been set for Monday 18 August.

Following this date, traffic data will be collected for a number of weeks to allow the junction and its timings to be optimised to improve its performance.

Thank you for your patience shown during the construction of this major improvement scheme. We apologise for any inconvenience or delays caused.

Why we are doing this

The improvements will help to upgrade the road network so it can deal with the expected increase in traffic resulting from the regeneration of Bracknell town centre and planned housing growth. These improvements are a key piece in a jigsaw of the upgraded highway network that we need in place to provide for economic growth in the borough.
