Twin Bridges highway improvement scheme

Latest update - Wednesday 30 July

The engineering phases of work on the northern side of the roundabout are now substantially complete. The remaining new street light columns and traffic signal poles are to be installed before the end of next week.

The resurfacing of the final phase of the roundabout started this week and will be complete by Friday morning. The junction will then continue to operate as its existing layout until the traffic signals are switched on in mid-August (following completion of all remaining works).

Please be aware that following the switch on of the signals, traffic data will be collected for a number of weeks to allow the junction and its timings to be optimised to improve its performance and therefore increase traffic capacity.

Please bear with us during this final phase of the improvement scheme.

Why we are doing this

The improvements will help to upgrade the road network so it can deal with the expected increase in traffic resulting from the regeneration of Bracknell town centre and planned housing growth. These improvements are a key piece in a jigsaw of the upgraded highway network that we need in place to provide for economic growth in the borough.
