Twin Bridges highway improvement scheme
Latest update - Thursday 17 April
Due to damage caused to the highway, there will be the need for a lane closure to be in place at Twin Bridges on Tuesday 22 April to allow the council's contractors to carry out repair work.
The closure will be in place from 9.30am to minimise traffic disruption during the morning peak time, but unfortunately will have to remain in place until the junction is closed for the planned overnight resurfacing starting at 8pm. This means that there is likely to be some unavoidable delays during the evening peak. If possible, please seek an alternative route.
The junction will be fully reopened at 6am on Wednesday 23 April.
The resurfacing of the southern half of the roundabout will continue overnight between Tuesday 22 April and Friday 25 April.
A diversion route will be in place during these hours. You can see the diversion route on our roadworks finder. Alternatively, you can scan this QR code if you have a smart phone.
Please be aware that there will be no road markings on the roundabout until Thursday 24 April following the removal of the existing road surface tonight, so please take extra care when travelling through the junction. Temporary warning signs will be in place during the day to inform drivers.
The council's contractors will be on site until completion of the project in August 2014.
Why we are doing this
The improvements will help to upgrade the road network so it can deal with the expected increase in traffic resulting from the regeneration of Bracknell town centre and planned housing growth. These improvements are a key piece in a jigsaw of the upgraded highway network that we need in place to provide for economic growth in the borough.
