UK General Election

A general election to elect the new Parliament must be held by no later than Thursday 3 June 2010. Further details will appear on this website shortly after the announcement of the date of the general election.

Please note that Parliamentary boundary changes will come into force when the next General Election is held. These will see the Polling Districts specified on the Electoral Services page, change Parliamentary constituency.

Elections to the Borough Council are normally held every 4 years and the next Council elections will be in May 2011. (For results from previous elections please click on the links on the right hand side of this page)

In addition to conducting all elections, the Electoral Services Section is responsible for the annual compilation and updating of the Register of Electors.
