The Superfast Berkshire programme began in 2011, as part of the government’s funding programme to achieve a transformation in broadband in the UK.
You can read more about the Broadband Delivery plan on GOV.UK.
The programme is backed by all 6 Berkshire unitary councils and the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
Phase 3 roll out
Superfast Berkshire has now commenced a phase 3 rollout across East Berkshire with:
- BT - Lot 1 - mainly urban locations
- Gigaclear - Lot 2 - rural locations
This will expand Berkshire’s superfast coverage to more than 96%.
To find out whether you are already covered by high speed broadband or when it is expected to reach your area, check the when and where map. To see which network operator is suitable for your property, see the Berkshire network operators page.
To get connected, you can find helpful steps on the Superfast Berkshire website get connected page.
If there are no plans for superfast broadband at your property and you cannot access a broadband service of at least of 2Mb per second, you may be able to get help from the government’s Better Broadband Scheme.
If you want to improve broadband in your area, please register with Superfast Berkshire. This data will be used to demonstrate broadband demand to suppliers. If you register you can also get alerts about the availability of broadband once improvements have been delivered.
