Change a food premises approval
If you operate certain types of food premises you may need to be approved by your local authority.
Examples of types of premises that are required to be approved by local authorities are stand alone (such as not attached to a slaughter house, cutting plant or game handling establishment):
meat processing/preparation plants
minced meat processing operations and mechanically separated meat processing plants
dairy processing plant
egg production sites
fish processing/preparation plants
Please contact us if you fall into any of these premises types or think you may require approval.
You may be refused approval if you do not comply with relevant requirements of the law.

There is no fee.
We aim to process your application within 3 months.
Please contact us in the first instance. There is no formal right of appeal to a magistrates or crown court in respect of a refusal to grant a food premises approval.
