Apply to change a hairdresser registration
To run a hairdressing business you need to register with your local council and keep to local health and safety rules. Anyone carrying on the business of hairdressing needs to apply unless they are only carrying out hairdressing to people employed at the premises.

The registration fee is £41.
A certificate will be sent to you to confirm the registration. You must have a copy of the certificate and copies of the byelaws of your local authority displayed in your premises. Once registered, you do not need to apply again, however each year you must supply an up-to-date list of people working at the premises and any changes to business practices carried out.
How long will it take my application to process?
We aim to process your application within 28 days of receiving it. If you have not heard from us by the end of this period, please contact us.
Please contact us first. Anyone applying who is refused a registration or wants to object to a condition on the licence can appeal to their local magistrates' court within 21 days of receiving notice of the decision.
The relevant legislation is the Berkshire Act 1983 Section 19.
