Skills for life programme

Skills for Life is a 12-week, referral-based programme. It is designed to help young people with SEND build friendships and develop their independent living skills.

Key features

Life skill workshops

A series of workshops that will cover essential topics such as independence, health, finance and travel. The workshops will help participants to prepare for adulthood, connect with local community resources and life opportunities.

Fun activities

Alongside the workshops, participants will be able to take part in fun activities that promote socialisation and personal growth. They will provide opportunities for the young people to connect with peers, build friendships and develop confidence.

Community based sessions

After each 12-week programme, participants will have the chance to practice and apply what they have learned through ‘real-life’ experiences. They will have the chance to tap into broader community resources and life opportunities.

Support for parents and carers

We understand the importance of family support. Sessions for parents and carers will focus on building resilience and boosting confidence. They will equip parents to support their young people through the transition to adulthood.
