7.033 Domiciliary and residential care markets

Comment:
The Commissioning team is currently working with the Domiciliary care market which has included regular contract monitoring meetings.
Mobilisation and planning for winter has been a key focus.
A number of new providers have been identified providing additional off-framework capacity. An analyse report is being developed with a view to making recommendations on future commissioning.
Work with the residential market has included contract monitoring and visits. An analyse report is being developed to inform market management going forward, ensuring that needs are better met locally.

The commissioning team is adopting and implementing a structured approach to commissioning through the commissioning cycle.
A key part of this is to develop market position statements for specific priority markets over the next year, including for LD, Home Care, residential and nursing. Key information is being collated to develop these.

This training takes place annually and is planned for July 2020 so there is little to update for this quarter.
As previously stated, attendance at the generic health training in July 2019 was good. Planning will start this quarter for dates this coming summer and we will review whether existing arrangements are still meeting local need effectively.
