Quarterly service report on staff sickness

Central directorates

Sickness rates within the central directorates have decreased slightly over the last quarter.

Finance figures have gone down significantly with the return of 3 long term sickness employees.

Organisational Development, Transformation and HR sickness has increased this quarter mainly due to 3 long term sick cases, all of which have now returned.

The overall average for Central Directorates is still well below the authority figure for last year of 7.22.

Delivery directorates

Sickness this quarterly has increased slightly compared to last quarter. Customer Experience has increased the most. There were 2 long term sick case in Customer Experience One of these has since returned to work. Property Services and ICT have both lowered absence levels.

People directorate

The sickness levels as a whole have increased since the last quarter. Most sections have seen an increase over the last quarter with the exception of Education and Learning and Mental Health and Out of Hours.

Estimated figures for the year put Adult Social Care and Mental Health and Out of Hours, along with Early Help and Communities with higher rates than the authority figure for 2018 to 2019.
