Paying for your care home
The scale of contributions you will be asked to pay is determined by your finances.
If you have more than £23,250 savings or capital it is likely you will be expected to pay the full cost of your residential care until your savings drop below this level.
If you have less than £23,250 savings or capital, the council will financially assess you to work out how much, if anything, you should contribute towards your support. You will pay the 'assessed contribution'.

A deferred payment agreement is an arrangement with the council that will enable some people to use the value of their homes to fund care home costs.
