Dementia friendly community

The council is working towards a dementia friendly community.

This involves creating a greater awareness of dementia in local communities. This is to help those with dementia to feel supported, valued and able to contribute to the community.

If you would like to help Bracknell Forest become more dementia friendly, you can sign up to become a dementia friend or champion.

You can also access free online dementia training.

Bracknell Forest Dementia Action Alliance (DAA)

We are looking for new members to get involved with projects that will help make Bracknell Forest a good place for people with dementia and their carers to live.

The DAA Steering Group meets every 2 months to discuss new projects and updates. If you would like to share your views in the DAA please get in touch.

You can get all our latest updates on the DAA Facebook and DAA Twitter.

Dementia Friends information sessions

Dementia Friends information sessions are held regularly in Bracknell Forest. At these sessions people gain a greater understanding of what it is like to live with dementia and pledge a small action to help people with dementia to feel part of their local community.

Anyone is welcome to attend and sessions are free.

You can find details of information sessions, including dates, on the Dementia Friends website.

You don't have to book, just turn up if you would like to find out more about dementia.
