New Hope drugs and alcohol service during coronavirus

During lockdown, New Hope is still open and offering support. We are taking calls and providing support at these times:

  • Monday to Thursday - 9am to 5pm
  • Friday - 9am to 4:30pm

We understand that people might be drinking more that they normally would. This is understandable under the current circumstances, but we want you to make sure that you are drinking sensibly and understand the risks of drinking too much.

Please feel free to call and have a chat if you are worried about how much you or a member of your family are drinking. Our service is confidential, and you do not have to enter treatment to access support.

You may also find our drugs and alcohol advice pages helpful.

Are you drinking too much?

You can take a simple survey at drinkaware to find out whether you should be worried about your drinking levels.

Talk to FRANK also have a helpline you can call on 0300 123 6600.

Track your alcohol consumption

You could try tracking your alcohol consumption.

Both the NHS and Drinkaware have apps you can download onto your phone to help you track your drinking.

Or you can download our document below, to help you keep track of what you are drinking. Try to keep track of this for one month.

Remember, the national guidelines are for an adult to drink no more than 14 units per week.
