If we have not been able to prevent you from becoming homeless under the prevention duty, you will be owed the relief duty.
During the relief duty, we must take reasonable steps to help secure suitable accommodation. The relief duty lasts for up to 56 days and is available to all households who are homeless and eligible.
If you do not have a local connection to Bracknell Forest, we can only provide limited help. We will consider referring you to the borough you have a connection to.
We will try to help you find alternative suitable accommodation that will be available for at least 6 months. This accommodation does not have to be from the council or a housing association. It can also be a private rental. If you refuse a suitable offer during this time, we may not have any further duty to house you.
We will try to find accommodation within the borough. However, given the short supply of housing available, it is likely to be outside the borough.
If you are a homeless household, we may have to provide you with emergency accommodation. If there is no other option, we may have to place you in bed and breakfast accommodation. This may also be outside the borough.
We will normally end the relief duty and issue you with a homeless decision if you are still homelessness after 56 days,
