The Look Out Discovery Centre coronavirus update
Updated 15 September 2021
Changes to the science centre
From Saturday 18 September 2021 we are open weekends, school holidays (Bracknell Forest term dates) and bank holidays for pre-booked visitors for timed sessions. Pre-booking is essential.
Weekdays during term time we are open for pre-booked visitors. A small number of tickets will be available to buy on the door. We suggest pre-booking to avoid disappointment.
Please note that on some days we have school groups visiting us. On these days tickets will be limited.
We will continue to operate with:
- reduced capacity of the science centre
- a pre-booking system
- increased cleaning throughout as well as full clean between sessions
To reduce touch points and help visitors maintain social distancing, some activities and exhibits have changed.
We strongly encourage all visitors to wear face coverings throughout your visit, except for children under 12 years old and those that are exempt. Please bring a face covering with you.
Staff will continue to wear face coverings whilst in the building.
Cleaning and safety measures
Hand sanitisers are available around the building and cleaning will be carried out periodically throughout the day, as well as cleaning between each of the timed sessions.
How to pre-book a ticket
You can book your tickets online. Select the ticket types you need for your party and make sure you have selected one ticket for each member of your party.
Make sure you have thoroughly read the terms and conditions, then you can proceed to payment.
Once you have booked you will receive an email containing your booking confirmation.
If you are late
Late entries to timed sessions will be admitted, however bookings are non-transferrable and non-extendable.
Once you have booked your tickets, they are non-refundable. If you are unable to make a session you have booked, we are very happy to transfer your booking to another date or time - subject to ticket availability. Please email us at email@example.com
If someone in your party feels sick on the day
Please do not attend your session if anyone in your party is exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19.
These are a:
- high temperature
- continuous cough
- loss or change to smell or taste
Please contact us before setting off and we can arrange a transfer of your booking to an alternative date or a refund.
Coffee shop and playground
The coffee shop is open for takeaway and offers a selection of hot food, hot and cold drinks, and snacks.
There is no indoor seating for the coffee shop. There are picnic benches near the playground and to the front of the building for use.
The playground is open.
The car park is open at our normal hours of 7am to 8:30pm. Visitors must make sure that they pay and display.
The science centre toilets are open for customers of the exhibition only.
The coffee shop toilets are available for public use from 9am to 5pm daily.
Card payments only
At the moment we are not accepting cash. All indoor facilities are pre-booking only and the coffee shop and gift shop are only accepting card payments.
