The Look Out Discovery Centre coronavirus update
Updated 21 May 2021
Changes to the science centre
Following government guidelines, we have:
- reduced capacity of the science centre
- implemented a pre-booking system
- increased cleaning throughout as well as full clean between sessions
To reduce touch points and help visitors maintain social distancing, some activities and exhibits have changed. At this time there will be no bricks, tiles, vests, or hard hats in Build It!
Face coverings must be worn by all visitors throughout your visit, except for children under 12 years old and those that are exempt. Please bring a face covering with you.
Following government guidance you may visit with another household. However, please make your bookings per household or support bubble. This is so to make sure that we have contact details for all households visiting.
Customers who arrive as more than one household per booking will not be admitted.
Cleaning and safety measures
Hand sanitisers are available around the building and cleaning will be carried out periodically throughout the day, as well as full cleaning slots between each of the timed sessions.
Science shows are temporarily unavailable
Unfortunately shows are unavailable at this time for the public. We are working hard to bring back our interactive science shows and ask for your patience during this period.
Pre-booked schools will be able to attend a show if booked.
Science centre opening days
The science centre is open to the public on:
- bank holidays
- Bracknell Forest school holidays
The rest of the facilities on site including the coffee shop, play area, and car park will remain open 7 days a week.
The science centre will only be open to pre-booked school groups on weekdays.
How to pre-book a ticket
You can book a ticket on our science exhibition page. Select the ticket types you need for your party and make sure you have selected one ticket for each member of your party. Make sure you have thoroughly read the terms and conditions, then you can proceed to payment. Once you have booked you will receive an email containing your booking confirmation.
If you are late
Late entries to timed sessions will be admitted, however bookings are non-transferrable and non-extendable.
Once you have booked your tickets, they are non-refundable. If you are unable to make a session you have booked, we are very happy to transfer your booking to another date or time - subject to ticket availability. Please email us at email@example.com

Please contact us before setting off and we can arrange a transfer of your booking to an alternative date or a refund.
Coffee shop and playground
The coffee shop is open for takeaway and offers a selection of hot food, hot and cold drinks, and snacks.
The playground is open, please follow guidance signage on entry gates regarding capacity limits.
We kindly ask that if it is busy, you come back later, perhaps explore the beautiful forest or visit another day.
The car park is open at our normal hours of 7am to 8:30pm. Visitors must make sure that they pay and display.
The science centre toilets are open for customers of the exhibition only.
The coffee shop toilets are available for public use from 9am to 5pm daily.
