National lockdown update
In line with government guidance, The Look Out playground remains open for bookable sessions.
Please only book a session if you live in:
- Ascot
- Binfield
- Bracknell
- Crowthorne
- Sandhurst
- Warfield
- Winkfield
If you live outside these areas please follow government guidance and visit a playground more local to you. Any bookings made outside of these areas will be cancelled.
The coffee shop takeaway service and car park also remain open, but please stay local and avoid the need for unnecessary travel.
Swinley Forest can be accessed for your once per day exercise:
- on your own
- with the people you live with
- with your support bubble
- when on your own, with one person from another household
Consider walking or cycling where possible, and please stay 2 metres from others at all times.
Book and play
To use the playground you need to book a space in advance using our online booking system. This is essential to make sure that social distancing and hygiene measures can be maintained.
Booking guarantees you a 90 minute visit to the play area. There is no charge for booking a session. Car parking fees apply as normal.
Visitors must follow the government guidance regarding staying in their household or support bubbles.
Session times
Session times are:
- 9:15am to 10:45am
- 11am to 12:30pm
- 12:45pm to 2:15pm
- 2:30pm to 4pm
Coffee Shop takeaway
The coffee shop is open daily from 9am to 5pm for takeaway purchases.
We have a selection of hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice creams available for takeaway.
All payments are contactless or card.

Terms and conditions
Parking
All cars must pay and display on arrival. Contactless payments only.
Bookings
Please only book if you are local to The Look Out, as under current government guidelines you must only travel within your local area. This means staying within your village, town or part of the city where you live.
Each booking accommodates one household or support bubble only.
Children must be supervised by an adult (18 years and over) throughout their visit. Parents and carers are responsible for providing care to make sure their children are following social distancing rules.
All indoor facilities are currently closed. This includes the toilets, science discovery centre, indoor eating areas and gift shop.
Hand sanitiser is available throughout the play area.
All cars must pay and display on arrival, spaces will not be reserved.
Customers must be prepared to provide proof of booking when requested.
Late arrivals will be accepted but session times are non-extendable.
All bookings must be made in advance and online.
Government guidance must be followed at all times. Staff will be vigilant towards misuse of the booking system to meet in inappropriate groups and any visitors who don't follow the guidance will be asked to leave.
Customers are politely reminded to respect staff.
No food or drink is to be consumed within the play area.
Equipment main touch points will be cleaned on a program throughout the day. However, given the nature of the equipment and the impracticality of cleaning it thoroughly after every child, there will remain a residual risk of infection. Use at your own risk.
Name and phone number will be taken for test and trace purposes. This information is stored in line with the council’s policies on data protection.
Do not attend the site if you or any member of your household has coronavirus symptoms or are self-isolating.
Picnic tables are unavailable at this time and will be out of bounds.
Unlike previous events, there will be no credit system available for the coffee shop.
Customer and staff safety
All indoor facilities are currently closed. This includes the science discovery centre, indoor eating areas, gift shop and toilets. This is a necessary precaution during COVID-19.
Hand sanitiser is available. You are also welcome to bring your own.
Customers must pay attention to hygiene and social distancing guidance around the site.
There’s currently no requirement to wear face coverings in outdoor venues. People should wear these at their own discretion.
Please help protect The Look Out and the surrounding forest by disposing of your litter in the bins provided or take it home with you.
