Visit our playground and coffee shop
At The Look Out Discovery Centre we are working on ways to welcome back visitors whilst remaining safe. If you’d like to use our re-opened facilities, then these are your current options, Short stay and play or Coffee Shop takeaway.
All internal facilities are currently closed to the public. This includes the science centre, indoor eating areas, gift shop and toilets. We are working hard to re-open these areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, if you'd like to visit us, use one of the options on this page.

Customer and staff safety
All indoor facilities are currently closed. This includes the science discovery centre, indoor eating areas, gift shop and toilets. This is a necessary precaution during COVID-19 but we’re exploring ways that we re-open these facilities when it is safe to do so.
Hand sanitiser is available throughout the short stay and takeaway areas. You are also welcome to bring your own.
Customers must pay attention to hygiene and social distancing guidance around the site.
Customers are politely reminded to respect staff requests, if they are asked to do something for health and safety reasons.
No food is to be eaten in the play area. Please sanitise hands before eating food in the picnic area.
Equipment touch points will be cleaned on a programme throughout the day. However, given the nature of the equipment and the impracticality of cleaning it thoroughly after every child, there will remain a residual risk of infection. Use at your own risk.
Names and phone numbers are taken for test and trace purposes. This information is stored in line with the council’s policies on data protection.
Do not attend the site if you or any member of your household has coronavirus symptoms or are self-isolating.
Money will be refunded for anyone unable to attend their session as a result of a positive test for COVID-19. This is to make sure there is no motivation to put others at risk.
There’s currently no requirement to wear face coverings in outdoor venues. People should wear these at their own discretion.
Please help protect The Look Out and the surrounding forest by disposing of your litter in the bins provided or take it home with you.
