Using a computer

Checkout screen on computer

For e-audio books, click the cover of an e-audio book and click Checkout. Open RBdigital Media Manager and login with our RBdigital username and password.

Back on the RBdigital website go to Checked out from the main menu and click on the book cover and then Download.

Note: The first time you do this an 'Open With' box may appear. Use the dropdown box to select 'Other'. If RBdigital Media Manager isn't one of the programs suggested, click on 'Browse' and look for OneClickdigital or OCDMediaManager. Click 'open' and tick "Do this automatically for files like this from now on". Click 'OK'.

Go to the RBdigital Media Manager and if your audio book doesn’t automatically appear, click the Refresh button at the top of the screen.

Click play to download. The book will begin to play as it starts downloading. It may take a few minutes for the entire book to download.

To listen to the e-audio on your MP3 player or iPod, plug in your device and click Download and Transfer. A Transfer Completed message appears when the transfer is finished.

You can choose to listen online or offline (non-protected titles only) to each chapter of your e-audio book using the built in player of your computer (iTunes or Windows Media Player) but RBdigital Media Manager is the easiest method to download, transfer, and manage audio titles on your computer.

For comics and magazines, click on the title cover to see the issues available and click Checkout and then Start reading to immediately read the magazine or comic in your browser. Select Keep browsing to choose more e-magazines or comics. Checked out lists all your titles.

For an easier layout for reading a magazine click on the title of the article to open it in text view or select the 'T' or Text option on the left side of the screen. You can then click on 'A' to increase the size of text and change the colour of the text and background. Click back on 'PDF' option to change back to how it would appear in print.

Renew and return your books

You can keep e-magazines on RBdigital for as long you like, but you need to return e-audio books and comics.

Using a smartphone or tablet

Select 'Checked out' then select the cross on the top right of the cover. You can also tap into the book, comic or magazine and return from this screen.

Using a computer

Select the main menu button (top left corner with 3 horizontal lines ) and then select 'Checked out'.

To return titles, select the cross in the top right corner of the cover or select the return button below the book cover.

To renew e-audio books select the Renew button next to the e-audio book cover or tap the book cover. (You can also return and renew e-audio books using RBdigital Media Manager.)

Deleting RBdigital e-audio books on a computer

E-audio books on a computer are not automatically removed when you return them or when the loan period finishes, but they no longer work. You will need to manually delete the file from your computer and portable media player in the same way you delete other files.

Reserve or add a title to a wishlist for later

If a e-audio book is not available because it is checked out by another customer you can select 'Hold'. You’ll be emailed when it becomes available.

Magazines and comics are available on an unlimited basis so they are always available.

If you would like to add a title to a wishlist to read later, select 'Wishlist'. To view titles on your wishlist, select the menu icon at the top left of the screen and select Wishlist.
