RBdigital user guide

Service changes

From 1 April, customers are unable to borrow e-audio books through RBdigital. All our e-audio books will be available through Borrowbox.

You will be able to finish listening to any titles checked out before 1 April until the end of the loan period.

RBdigital e-comic books will continue to be available for now.

Getting started

Using a smartphone or tablet

Download and install the app:

Open the app, select United Kingdom and Bracknell Forest Libraries before entering your library card number. For e+ cards beginning 633, please omit 633 and enter the remaining digits.

To add an extra account to the RBdigital app if you share your device with family or wish to access RBdigital with different library services, go to My Account, then select Profile and '+' to add a new account.

Kindle Fire users

To install RBdigital for Libraries on your Kindle Fire you need to enable your device to accept apps from “other” non-Kindle Store sources. (Settings > More > Device > Allow installation of Applications (from unknown sources) > select "ON").

Go to RBdigital to register. For e+ cards beginning 633, please omit 633 and enter the remaining digits.

Search, browse and borrow

Using a smartphone or tablet

Search or browse to choose a title.

Select the main menu button (3 horizontal lines in the top left corner of the screen) and select 'Comics'.

Browse the available comics or select the search button (magnifying glass) to search by keyword, genre, audience or availability and select a cover to open it.

Go to the RBdigital website and select the magnifying glass icon to search for either audiobooks or comics by various criteria.

You can also browse through the books by selecting the 3 lines menu button in the top left corner of the screen and then select 'Comics'.

Download and read or listen

Tap read. The titles will automatically start to download so you can also use the titles when you are not connected to the internet.

Select the main menu and then 'Checked out' to see all your borrowed titles. Under each title it shows whether titles are downloaded or shows how much of the title has been downloaded. Select download to finish downloading to your device.

For and comics, swipe left and right to turn the pages. You can also zoom in and out or see a quick view of pages for navigating the comic book.

For comics, select the title cover to see the issues available and select Checkout and then Start reading to immediately read the comic in your browser. Select Keep browsing to choose more comics. Checked out lists all your titles.

Select right and left to move through the comic or select the table of contents on the left side of the screen to see previews of each page to navigate quickly through the comic.

Renew and return your books

Using a smartphone or tablet

Select 'Checked out' then select the cross on the top right of the cover. You can also tap into the book cover or comic and return from this screen.

Using a computer

Select the main menu button (top left corner with 3 horizontal lines ) and then select 'Checked out'.

To return titles, select the cross in the top right corner of the cover or select the return button below the book cover.
