Activities at Birch Hill Library


Film club

Cost: 50p for refreshments

When: 2pm to 3pm, first Monday of the month.


Bounce and rhyme

Sessions include singing nursery rhymes and children's songs. Suitable for babies and toddlers.

Singing to young children has many benefits including:

  • developing pre-school skills in readiness for starting school
  • language development - through repetition of rhymes
  • developing listening skills and concentration
  • early literacy, language and speech skills
  • encouraging participation
  • early story telling
  • social development - meeting other families

Cost: 50p

When: 9:30am every Tuesday.

No booking required.

This session is sometimes parent led.

Tots time

This group is perfect for toddlers - with singing, storytelling and crafts. 

Cost: £1.50

When: 10:30am on Tuesdays

Adult knit and natter

Join our chat and crochet group. Bring along your own materials to work with.

Cost: 50p

When: 2pm on the first and third Tuesdays of the month

Carers' Social +

Join our social group for carers. Carers and those you care for can enjoy tea, coffee and cake in a welcoming library environment. Find a listening ear, compassion, understanding and a warm and friendly welcome.

Cost: 50 pence

When: 2pm to 4pm, third Tuesday of the month (starts Tuesday 17 September)

Carers' Social + is also available at different times and days at many of our libraries.

When: 1pm to 2pm on the second Thursday of the month.

We'll supply the bricks, you bring the ideas!
