About Clare Bevan
Clare Bevan, Bracknell’s first Poet Laureate is an accomplished poet, author and playwright.
As well as writing many books for children, she has published hundreds of poems for children and adults, rhymes for birthday cards, adverts, comedy sketches and lyrics for musicals.
Clare loves the feel of words on her tongue and enjoys acting, giving talks in classrooms and libraries, performing her poetry and making people laugh.
About Gaynor Clarke
I first started writing rhyming poetry as a fun way for my children to remember historical facts, but it was only when I was asked to organise a Poetry event at Sandhurst Library, that I really took up writing.
I believe my strength is in performance poetry and I will be reading poems from three of my favourite poets, Dylan Thomas, Emily Dickinson and Billy Collins. These will be interspersed by some of my own work.
