Activities for school age children
We have a range of activities aimed at school aged children at many of our libraries.
These activities are generally free. A small voluntary donation may be requested for those activities involving crafts (usually 50p).
There is generally no need to book but some sessions can get very busy and the library involved may need to introduce a booking system. It would be wise to check with the library before attending a session for the first time.
After school crafts
These sessions are aimed at primary school children. Children aged 8 and under will need to be supervised by an accompanying adult. Owing to the use of scissors and glue these activities are not suitable for younger children.
Story sessions may consist of informal storytelling or be a more structured activity intended for a specific age group.
The sessions are generally free, but the more structured sessions may require booking.
Please contact individual libraries for further information.
Various activities aimed at families take place at some libraries on Saturdays. These are normally based round a theme and may include crafts, stories, quizzes and puzzles.
