Bracknell Forest Council and Wokingham, Bracknell and Districts Mencap, in partnership with other local organisations, are launching an exciting programme of activities to celebrate Learning Disability Awareness Week.
It runs from Monday 19 June to Friday 23 June 2017 and includes a variety of events such as an indoor sports day, ‘Bracknell’s Got Talent’ BBQ and a free music night with a live band.
The programme has been designed to raise awareness of learning disabilities with everyone in the community. Everyone is welcome to take part - people with learning disabilities, parents, carers and practitioners.
Cllr Dale Birch, executive member for adult services, health and housing said,
Bracknell Forest Council is committed to improving outcomes for adults with learning disabilities and their carers. I would like to encourage everyone to support and celebrate Learning Disability Awareness Week by participating in the fantastic programme of events on offer.
