Coral Reef Waterworld – more details confirmed

Coral Reef waterslide tower

Coral Reef Waterworld will re-open its doors later this month, after being closed for over 19 months.

The attraction has undergone an extensive £13.3m refurbishment throughout which includes:

  • 5 brand new state-of-the-art interactive waterslides
  • improved changing facilities including new lockers, changing cubicles and showers
  • a completely upgraded café area and snack bars
  • extensive improvements to Coral Spa, formerly Sauna World

The exact opening date is yet to be confirmed while the final stages of the project are carried out under careful conditions, to ensure the attraction is ‘woken up’ slowly after lying dormant for such a long time.

In preparation for the opening, the entrance fees for the attraction have now been confirmed. Most peak prices have increased to reflect both the greatly improved leisure offer and sheer scale of the investment, but some off peak prices have been reduced.

The new prices for 2017 to 2018 will be as follows.

Vincent Paliczka, director for environment, culture and communities said:

We understand the news of a price increase at any popular facility is never welcomed. However, with the addition of the 5 new interactive state-of the-art waterslides, offering such varied experiences to match the best in the country, and the extensive refurbishment to the rest of the facility, we believe the prices still represent a good value-for-money day out.

While most prices have increased, some of our off peak prices have been reduced and we have extended free entrance to now include the under 5s.

Information regarding the re-opening of Coral Reef Waterworld will be issued shortly. To keep up-to-date with all Coral Reef news, visit our Coral Reef webpage or find Coral Reef on Facebook.
