Great start for The Lexicon

Customers at The Lexicon

The Lexicon has today (16 November) released footfall figures for the first 9 weeks since its opening on 7 September 2017.

There have been more than 3 million visits to the new town centre, which compares to 820,000 for the same period last year.

Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon says:

We would like to thank everyone for their terrific support of the new town centre. We are predicting a visitor figure of 14 million during our first year, and these first figures put us right on track to achieve this.

Retailer interest in The Lexicon remains buoyant and we hope to be able to announce some more lettings this side of Christmas.

We have a fabulous programme of entertainment in place for the festive period, and look forward to welcoming new and old customers in the run-up to Christmas.

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, said:

The Lexicon has provided our residents, business and visitors with the town centre they have wanted for many years.

To have 3 million people visit in the first 9 weeks is really great news and a testament to its popularity. I’m sure as we head towards Christmas even more people will visit to take advantage of the wonderful retail, entertainment and shopping facilities The Lexicon offers.
