Join The Lexicon’s Christmas celebrations on Saturday 18 November

Red bauble on a Christmas tree

The Lexicon’s Christmas celebrations commence on Saturday 18 November 2017, at 3pm when entertainers such as Santa’s Hula Hoop Girls, Jester Contact Jugglers, Gold Belles Stilt Walkers and the Acrobatic Elves will be performing throughout the town centre.

Garth Hill College Choir will perform in Princess Square from 5pm in advance of the Forest Snow Queen waving her magical wand to light the Christmas illuminations in Princess Square at 5:30pm.

At the same time, representatives from Bracknell Gymnastics Club, The Lexicon’s Charity of the Year, will make the first coin donation for The Lexicon’s Charity Christmas Tree. In exchange for every donation, the red baubles on the 30 foot high tree will light-up.

The illuminations continue to come alive throughout The Lexicon, with the Forest Snow Queen guiding the Christmas magic from Princess Square down Braccan Walk, to The Avenue and Eagle Lane to finish the festivities by lighting the Christmas tree in Bond Square.

The evening entertainment continues with Bracknell & Wokingham Community Band hosting a Christmas sing-a-long, followed by a festive performance from a local choir, Vocalese.

Boor, head of marketing for The Lexicon says:

Our first Christmas will be very much community focused with the Charity Tree and local performers. We also have a couple of surprises in-store for the 18th.

Music and entertainment will continue around The Lexicon including, character visits, street entertainers, local musicians and bands throughout the festive period.

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, executive member for economic development and regeneration, says:

This year’s celebration will be the first for our new town centre, it is community focussed and will provide a magical selection of entertainment and as well as some more traditional elements like carols round the Christmas tree.
