Bracknell Forest Council's statement regarding predicted surplus capacity for primary schools in North Bracknell

We are aware of some comments circulating on social media regarding predicted surplus capacity for primary schools in North Bracknell. Some of the information provided has been taken out of context so below is a statement outlining Bracknell Forest Council's official position including any plans for a new school in the area:

Nikki Edwards, director of children, young people and learning at Bracknell Forest Council, said:

“The council considers each planning application on its individual merits and in line with local and regional planning policies. The planning committee will review the application for proposed schools, housing, a scout hut and academy golf course in North Ascot in line with planning considerations only. We’re unable to comment further until a decision has been reached by the committee.

“We respect the council’s planning process and appreciate this application will be considered against a number of criteria, most of which is unrelated to school provision, however the council’s children, young people and learning department does not require any further school places and does not support the application as a basis for providing extra school capacity .”
