On Friday, 26 October the new Warfield link road, known as Sopwith Road and Ellison Road, was formally opened by the Mayor of the borough of Bracknell Forest, Cllr Alvin Finch, Warfield Parish Council's Chair Colleen Healy and Divisional Chairman of Berkeley Homes Andrew Saunders-Davis.
The link road is part of the development of the Warfield housing allocation and has been constructed by Berkeley homes in partnership with Bracknell Forest Council. Funding support was provided from the Local Growth Fund from Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
The new road provides a direct link between Harvest Ride and Forest Road and links in with the new junction at three legged cross.
Cllr Chris Turrell, executive member for planning and transport, said:
"This is a key milestone in the Warfield development and key piece of infrastructure for the borough. It comes as part of a planned approach that the council is taking to manage traffic in the local area and in planning for the new communities.
“The new road has come about through successfully working together with Berkeley Homes and the Local Enterprise partnership."
