New play facilities at Harvest Hill a big hit with local children

Children at the new play area

Excited children from local Busy Bees Nursery gathered last Friday to try out new equipment that has been provided as part of a refit at this popular playground in Warfield.

An investment of £70,000 by the council has seen the tired and outdated play area improved with new and fun equipment that caters for a wider age range of children.

The new facilities, which include springers, swings and a multi-unit, were opened with the assistance of the children and Warfield Harvest Ride Councillors, council parks and countryside rangers who manage the site and a rep from Kompan.

Cllr Iain McCracken executive member for culture, delivery and public protection said:

“It’s a pleasure to be able to provide these new facilities, which I hope can be enjoyed by many more children and young families for years to come.”
