This week, nationally, there are many changes afoot for the next phases of recovery. At the council we are underway with this planning too, but we are also continuing to make sure that our services are working for you now. Whilst there are so many changes happening, we want to make sure that the right information reaches you at the right time.
One team that is a vital contact for residents is our customer services. This team has already handled more than 20,000 enquiries since the end of March through phone calls, emails and online. They have also joined forces with members of the Bracknell Forest community response to support residents. Customer services have been working 7 days a week, making more than 1,800 calls to some of the borough’s most vulnerable residents to make sure all those classed as extremely vulnerable are given the support they need.
You might also be finding information through the active social media community run by our communications and marketing team. With more than 25,000 followers over several social media channels, we are sharing daily updates from across the borough. For those us of less active on social media - myself included! - the team are also continuing to provide up-to-date information through the Town & Country publication and through extra information delivered direct to households.
You might also have noticed the changes to our website. I’d like to thank the digital services team who have led in coordinating the information from across all our services into concise service updates. Since the end of March, the team went from a couple of brief delay notices to a fully developed coronavirus section, all in less than 10 days. Now more than 140 website updates have been completed with many more likely to follow. This has been much needed as our coronavirus support pages have been viewed more than 8,000 times.
Staying connected with family, friends and the community continues to be of great importance. As the transition through recovery will bring many more changes, we will continue to use these channels to keep you up to date. I hope you will stay safe and well.
