It is with deep sadness that we have learned of the death of His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Loved ones remembered through online Annual Memorial Service

Easthampstead Park Cemetery and Crematorium (EPC&C) is giving families the opportunity to remember their loved ones through their Annual Memorial Service, which this year has been pre-recorded and is available online.

Every year, the cemetery and crematorium welcomes bereaved families and friends to an open-air memorial to celebrate the life of their loved ones and to gain comfort from readings, prayers and hymns.

This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, it was not possible to deliver the service in this way, but the team at EPC&C, along with its partners, were determined to make sure families were able to still pay their respects to their loved ones.

The video sees an introduction from The Mayor of the Borough of Bracknell Forest, Cllr Ash Merry, as well as readings, music and the releasing of doves, all set in the tranquil grounds of EPC&C.

The Mayor of the Borough of Bracknell Forest, Cllr Ash Merry, said:

“It was an absolute honour to be part of this online memorial service, which offers a time for personal reflection and remembrance for bereaved families and friends.

“Our open air annual memorial service is always very well attended, and the team at Easthampstead Park Cemetery and Crematorium has approached this online service with sensitivity and respect, to bring a dignified memorial service in difficult circumstances.

I hope this year’s alternative service brings comfort and peace to those who need it.”
