Clarification regarding positive COVID-19 cases at Edgbarrow School

There have been 6 positive COVID-19 cases at Edgbarrow School over the past 14 days.

All those who have tested positive are self-isolating as are all of their close contacts.

Year 10 pupils were asked not to attend school today (Friday) – this was a precautionary step to enable contact tracing to take place.

Year 10 pupils who have not been identified as a close contact will return to school as normal on Monday.

Pupils who are self-isolating will be able to learn via an online classroom and some live virtual lessons.

If your child attends Edgbarrow and has not been contact traced, then they should attend school as normal. The only exception is if they are displaying any of the three COVID-19 symptoms or need to self-isolate due to someone in their household having symptoms or testing positive.

We would ask residents not to speculate on social media regarding the situation but to speak to the school directly if they have children at Edgbarrow and have concerns. The school will continue to keep parents up-to-date directly.
