COVID-19 update for Ranelagh school

Ranelagh pupils in years 7, 11 and 13 and vulnerable children from all year groups have returned to school today (Wednesday 14 October), following the temporary COVID-19 related closure on Tuesday (13 October).

Pupils from all remaining year groups will return to school from Monday (19 October).

The school took the decision to close on Tuesday following 2 positive COVID-19 cases over the past 14 days, which resulted in a number of close contacts being identified within the school team.

Both people (one pupil and one member of staff) who tested positive are self-isolating as are their close contacts.

If your child attends Ranelagh and has not been contact traced, then they do not need to self-isolate. However, your child must self-isolate if they display any COVID-19 symptoms or if someone in their household develops symptoms or tests positive

Home learning has been put in place for pupils at home due to the temporary closure or due to self-isolation. The school is continuing to communicate directly with parents.

We kindly ask residents not to speculate on social media. Parents should speak to the school directly if they have children at Ranelagh and have concerns.
