Bracknell Forest schools update - 8 December

All Bracknell Forest schools continue to work as hard as they can to provide effective education in a safe environment for their pupils.

Due to a small number of new COVID-19 cases at Crowthorne CE Primary School, the school has today decided to close until after Christmas but will be providing online learning instead until the Christmas holidays start. This decision has not been taken lightly but has been made to make sure of the safety of all staff and pupils. Owing to the number of staff self-isolating, it is not feasible to keep the school open and maintain safe pupil/ staff ratios at this time.

Provision for key worker and vulnerable children will continue to be made on site and the school will continue to communicate directly with parents and carers.

In addition to the schools announced yesterday that have COVID-19 cases, we are aware of one positive case at The Pines School and a small number of positive cases at Crown Wood Primary School. Both schools have advised parents/carers accordingly today.

We are continuing to work with schools to support them and will continue to help them manage outbreaks in line with our Outbreak Control Plan.

Parents/carers should continue to send their children to school as long as they have not been asked to self-isolate, they are well and their school/ bubble isn’t closed.

More information about what to do if your child has been asked to self-isolate, has symptoms or has tested positive can be found on the NHS website.
