Seven life size superhero statues will arrive at The Lexicon next week, just in time for half term!

From Friday 28 May to Monday 7 June, visitors to the town centre will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with characters from the popular Marvel and DC films.

Located next to the Brighter Days tree in Princess Square, visitors will find superhero characters on display including:

  • Spiderman
  • Iron Man
  • Batman
  • Cat Woman
  • Cyborg
  • Thor
  • Black Panther

Cllr Marc Brunel-Walker, Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration said:

“As the town centre begins the recovery from the pandemic, we have a number of exciting events and activities coming to The Lexicon to support local retailers. This year has been tough and we are keen to create a buzz around our wonderful town centre.

“The Lexicon team is working hard to create these events whilst still following the COVID-19 rules. The superhero statues will be socially distanced in line with government guidelines. Shoppers are asked to act responsibly and respect others while enjoying the experience.”

Sue Boor, Head of Marketing at The Lexicon said:

“Our superhero installation brings something for the whole family, with a range of popular characters offering a contact-free activity as part of a great day out. We’re sure the event will be a really fun experience for children and big kids alike, and we’re looking forward to seeing those super, smiley-selfies too!”
