Update from council leader - 2 June

Time Square 2 June

Cllr Paul Bettison, OBE, Leader of Bracknell Forest Council, said:

As of last week, I am pleased to say that the country achieved another milestone as 30-year olds and above were invited to book their COVID-19 vaccination appointments.

I would like to stress the importance of booking your appointment if you are eligible, and that you should book 2 appointments to have both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. It is advised that the second dose should be taken 8 to 12 weeks after getting your first dose.

However, if you've had a positive COVID-19 test, you should wait 4 weeks from the date you had the test before you book an appointment. You can book your appointment using the online service on the NHS website.

If you have a child aged up to 14 years old (or 18 if disabled), we would love to hear about your childcare needs and experiences of accessing childcare in Bracknell Forest.

The Early Years team has created a survey as part of their research on the levels of demand for, and supply of childcare. It is open to all parents living in or accessing childcare in Bracknell Forest, and you can complete the survey online.

Finally, the popular Bracknell vegan market returned to The Lexicon on Sunday and will be returning to Princess Square between 11am and 4pm on Sunday 27 June and a number of future dates.

There will be a range of fantastic stalls selling a selection of incredible food, delicious deli, cakes, refreshing drinks, beautiful homeware, natural skincare and eco-friendly products. Entry is completely free and everyone is welcome. COVID-19 safety measures will also be in place so you can shop confidently.

I hope you stay safe and have a good week.
