Stoptober is back, encouraging smokers to stop smoking, get moving, start saving and breathe easier this October.

If you’re a smoker, quitting is the best step you can take to improve your health and the health of those around you and our stop smoking service, Smokefreelife Berkshire is here to help.

There is strong evidence that if you can quit for 28 days, you are 5 times more likely to stop for good. Smokefreelife Berkshire provides specialist support for residents and those working in Bracknell Forest. They use a range of methods to suit your needs including face-to-face, digital and online support, as well as intensive behaviour change techniques to identify triggers. The service will also provide nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) in order to help individuals further.

During Stoptober, Smokefreelife Berkshire advisors will be located at Princess Square in The Lexicon on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9am to 5pm.

Why not pop down and find out how they can support you to stop smoking this Stoptober?

Cllr Dale Birch, Chair of the Bracknell Forest Health and Wellbeing Board and Executive Member for Health, said:

“Whether you have tried to quit smoking before, or if this is your first go, our specialists at Smokefreelife Berkshire can help you.

“As we head into winter our health should be a priority, the risk of catching the flu and COVID-19 increases. It’s well known that smokers are more likely to suffer from a more serious illness and worse symptoms from flu or COVID-19, than those who do not smoke, therefore there has never been a better time to give up smoking.”
