A brand new Early Years Fun Day, hosted by Bracknell Town Council and Bracknell Forest Council, is taking place on Wednesday 22 June at Jocks Lane with lots of exciting family activities for under 5s.
The much-loved Teddy Bears’ Picnic has been transformed into an afternoon of family fun from 11am to 2pm, full of free activities, including:
- a petting farm
- make your own playdough
- a splash pad
- sensory activities
- tennis taster sessions
- a large play area
A wide range of family services provided by the council will be there on the day to give information and see how they can help support local families. Other agencies, such as HomeStart, will also be in attendance to share their services with residents.
Cllr Dr Gareth Barnard, Executive Member for Children, Young People and Learning, said:
“We know how much people loved the Teddy Bears’ Picnic that used to run each year until 2020. We wanted to recreate this special event but make it bigger and better than ever.
“Our early years team has worked hard with our colleagues at Bracknell Town Council to bring Bracknell Forest families a day full of fun for free, as well as an opportunity to seek advice or support from our council services.
“Our under 5s have spent a great deal of time living in a pandemic and this is a great opportunity for local families to socialise and enjoy the fresh air.”
Refreshments will also be available on the day from the coffee shop and toilets and changing rooms will be open to all.
To join the fun, arrive at Jock's Lane, Binfield, RG12 2BH from 11am on Wednesday.
